Difference Between Using Dog Food And Treats

dog food and treats

There is a bit of a difference between using food and using treats

Some of dogs have a really highly developed food drive and they're totally willing to you know walk on the treadmill and just do that for their normal dog food.

Let's say they're eating you know a basic dry dog food or a kibble.

Some dogs and are only like their food all that much and we've got to build up that food drive over time.

And some of them you know they've been used to you know the owners putting you know gravy and chicken in all these different things in their food so they're not dog food is is not much incentive to them

And some of your dogs that may be the case and they might be a little bit more picky with their food. And in so doing you might want to just use treats.

Now personally the treats I use with my dogs training, I always use a really basic dehydrated beef liver. I find that 95 percent of dogs love it. It's very low calorie which is nice.

You can use your dog's normal dog food or you can use treats or you can use a combination of both if your dog is willing to.

If your dog eats a raw diet which is a fabulous diet it's kind of kid a little bit massively a little bit different so you might want to go with you know some dehydrated meat or something like that.

But that's why we want to use food in training to give them incentive. And that's a little bit about whether you want to use just your normal dog food or if you are going to be using some treats.
